En diferentes momentos de mi vida he experimentado la cercanía de ríos. Algunos moribundos, otros que sobreviven ante las acciones humanas. Actualmente vivo en un lugar muy distinto, después de estar en ciudades por casi toda mi vida ahora estoy rodeada de árboles y agua. Con un río vivo de vecino, con ciclos y animales. Y estoy aprendiendo a cuidar el agua que brota de la tierra renovando un sistema de manejo de agua de 100 de antigüedad.
Estos aprendizajes contrastados con los otros ríos que han sido parte de mi vida son el punto de partida de este proyecto. Por medio de documentación en fotografía y video he ido conociendo los ciclos y cambios del río. Con acciones, intervenciones y dibujos se irá tejiendo una bitácora de reconocimiento con el agua.

This experiences contrasted with other rivers in my life, are the starting point of this project. With documentation in photography and video, I have been recording the cycles and changes in the river, with actions, interventions and drawings I have been creating a record of knowing the river.
During my life I have been lived close to rivers, some dying, some that endured human activity, and currently I live in a very different setting. After living in cities most of my live, I am now surrounded by trees and water. With a river as neighbor, experiencing up close its cycles and animals. I am learning how to care for water sources, including a spring that is over 100 yers old.
The project is a three channel immersive video installation with sound, and drawings created in the process of making the animations. The project was developed at The Soil Factory, Ithaca NY from July-August 2021 and Brooktondale Community Center in Brooktondale, New York.
