Experimental animation workshops

I have taught experimental animation workshops in summer camps and art spaces. Some use my Max/Msp jitter interface and others stop motion edited later in the computer. Some are done by adults and some by children. Its always interesting what moving image can suggest on the go!

As artist-in-residence for IN-SIGHT in Boston, MA, I led an animation workshop for the after school program at Black Stone, with a diverse group of children ranging from 8-15 years old. We talked about animation, showed examples and worked with different materials and a camera, that I later edited into animations. Here are their creations:

At the Ithaca Youth Bureau, Recreation Program in Ithaca, New York, I taught the Art Camp program for summer 2019, one of the sessions included the theme of “Making a story” for these children aged 6-12  woked on storyboards, characters, and props to shot with camera and a later I edited into animation.

In the frame of the exhibition Inquieta Imagen 2010 at Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo in San José Costa Rica, I performed and exhibit a piece with my platform Multifungi, later I taught two long day workshops where people signed up to participate in them, with different materials we created series of animations in the style I use in my practice, using the custom software I use for my multimedia performance with a webcam, Max/Msp Jitter and midicontroller.
